The Bellerive School, formally known as the Kangaroo Point School was established in 1842 under Schoolmaster John Lane. A sketch of the original sandstone school house, now a private residence is clearly shown on this plan. In 1954 the school moved to new buildings in Leslie Street. Interestingly, this plan also depicts the site of the later to be built Kangaroo Bluff Battery. A report in 1873 of possible Russian warships lurking in the region prompted plans to build a defense battery at Kangaroo Bluff. Construction commenced in 1880 with the battery completed in 1884.
Reproductions are inkjet printed on high quality paper using colour-fast UV tolerant inks. These plans and charts are suitable for laminating or framing.
Please note that historic charts and plans are printed on demand as orders are received. As such there can be an additional 2-3 day delay over and above standard delivery times.
