This image shows the engravings of 'Kings Island' from Scotts survey in the 1860s, featuring highly detailed descriptions of soil types, water sources, geological features, fauna and vegetation as well as coastal maritime features, rookeries and good fishing spots. An interesting note adjacent to the area below the Cape Wickham lighthouse marked as 'Victoria Cove' observes the presence of 'coarse grained granite exactly similar to that at [Wil]sons Promontory, New South Wales'. (The colony of Victoria was formally founded through separation from New South Wales in 1851.)
Reproductions are inkjet printed on high quality paper using colour-fast UV tolerant inks. These plans and charts are suitable for laminating or framing.
Please note that historic charts and plans are printed on demand as orders are received. As such there can be an additional 2-3 day delay over and above standard delivery times.
