This plan of 'part of the roads from Launceston to the Liffey' was prepared from a survey by Thomas Scott in June 1830. The winding red line is marked variously as the 'old road to Westbury', 'previous road to the westward' and 'previous road to Launceston', with notations on the straighter east-west line of road showing 'now marked', 'newly marked' and 'proposed new', with the dotted line joining the two solid segments noted as the 'line suggested by some of the gentlemen proprietors of land to the westward'. Prominent on the map is historic Entally House, built in 1819 by Thomas Reibey II, son of Thomas and Mary Reibey. Pictured on Australia's $20 note, Mary Reibey was convicted for horse stealing and transported to New South Wales in 1792, later becoming one of Australia's wealthiest women, obtaining the original grant of 300 acres of land upon which son Thomas settled and built Entally House.
